Samaritan Daytop Family Association was founded with the mission to provide counseling services, support groups, and educational workshops to help families navigate the challenges of addiction.

Our team is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of those affected by addiction, offering a safe and supportive environment for healing and growth.

A Message from our President

For over 50 years, Samaritan Daytop Family Association has helped countless parents, grandparents, siblings and significant others through the rollercoaster ride of their loved one’s drug or alcohol use.

As we can all attest, substance abuse, in any form, is devastating and impacts the entire family system.

The Family Association has been referred to as “the family repair station.” Through us, you can:

  • Learn how to look for signs of potential relapse
  • Understand why your loved one turned to drugs or alcohol
  • Let go of your pain and suffering
  • Regain a perspective on your own life
  • Receive ongoing emotional support

Family support groups meet one evening per week at locations in NYC and Suffolk County.  Meetings via Zoom are also available.  These groups are run by family members, for family members. They are completely confidential and non-judgmental. “Anything that’s said in group stays in group.” We are a support system that has experience and training in learning how to healthfully process the damage and destruction caused by substance use.

Sincerely,

Jeff Ott
